The client needs a portal for the library information kiosk which would speed up the use of the kiosk. The portal needs to include links to various library databases, electronic catalogues and other sites users visit.

This is a pointless post. Look down.

If you’re doing it for the school library, you can use the school’s website. The database solution would be similiar to the original site, but instead of students you will have books.

    Problem?

The problem for my client is that, the current website is not up to date(information) and not appealing enough(the coloring and overall design) for the potential customer.

Use the skills you’ve learned in ITGS class, and design a better looking and better functioning site.
To keep stuff updated, your client can use a social networking solution like Facebook or Twitter.

Make it prettier, update the information, sort it out so it makes sense and then add a Twitter feed to create a connection between the client and customer

Well yeah if the website needs to be updated then yeah a good colour scheme and many menus should be used

Use a smartphone, sticky notes, a calendar or a rock which you can use to carve dates into some other rock

      • Erik-Silver Toomere 10:56 on April 4, 2011 Permalink | Log in to Reply

Sticky notes and calendars don’t do what he wants, a smartphone might but it’s harder to create

    Project problem

My client sews dance competiton dresses for children of all ages and it is difficult for her to sell these dresses to other dance clubs other than the club where her daughter dances. She wants to sell the dresses to everyone and not sit on the telephone all the time.

    • Brent 10:48 on April 4, 2011 Permalink | Log in to Reply

Use Facebook to promote the dresses and stuff, by creating a user in facebook, for the company.
Facebook commeting and thingies can help.

If the transactions take place in the meatspace, use Facebook to organize and advertise.

    U mad?

My problem is that my client needs a way to sell her goods (in this case, soap) in a manner other than dealing face to face.

There is no standardised way of delivering CAS diaries to authorised personnel and there is also the absence of the possibility of casual monitoring.

    • Brent 10:51 on April 4, 2011 Permalink | Log in to Reply

      Yes!

    • Taavi 10:53 on April 4, 2011 Permalink | Log in to Reply

Does the way of delivering have to be standardised? If so then I do not want to give you a solution. As for the casual monitoring you could create a Tik Õpe like environment where one has to upload their diary by certain deadlines…

    • Erik-Silver Toomere 10:54 on April 4, 2011 Permalink | Log in to Reply

Force everybody to create a CAS blog and then make a collective site for all of the blogs

      • Sander 10:58 on April 4, 2011 Permalink | Log in to Reply

Use TIK TAK. That is, the messaging system that is never used. Or something of the sort.

        • Paavo Viilup 17:48 on April 4, 2011 Permalink | Log in to Reply

Speak for yourself. The messaging system is used often, actually. It could be modified for the CAS diary project, but you’re not proficient enough yet.

    • alex 10:57 on April 4, 2011 Permalink | Log in to Reply

The casual monitoring cannot be done unless to place cameras everywhere. The updating of diaries may be solved in one huge blog or a forum where everybody has their own space where to write. To ensure that everybody write regularly the same method as in do.tik can be used to set a time when the next thing has to be written and if not then it will be noted and writing for that day will be suspended.

      • Paavo Viilup 17:52 on April 4, 2011 Permalink | Log in to Reply

I’m guessing casual monitoring refers to the ability of having an occasional look at the diary-in-progress, not having a world-wide surveillance network. I concur with TIK Task being a possible solution, but then that would not really work as a project.
